More Bee learning!

We are continuing to learn about bees, and the community they live in. Earlier we learned that bees are insects, but we weren't sure exactly what an insect was, or why a bee was one?
So.....we read a book about insects and recorded the information on a define map - some of what we read was relevant (important), and some wasn't.

Then we used the information on the define map to write a definition of an insect. A definition describes or tells about something. Our definition of an insect is...
An insect is a small egg laying animal with 6 legs, 3 body parts, and usually 4 wings!

YES - a bee is an insect. And now we know why!

Up at The Honey Centre we saw and heard lots about bees. On Tuesday we built our own bees to learn more about the parts of their bodies, and what each part does.

Have a listen to what we know about the parts of a bee's body...
